Citizen’s Climate Network (CCN)

Project

During the one-year period from January to December 2022, the MERL team implemented two community-based networks in Prey Veng and Pursat, Cambodia. The primary objective of the project was to enhance community awareness about climate-related issues and adaptive measures, and to bring their perspectives on climate risks and actions to policy dialogues. The networks were designed to serve as demonstration sites for sharing resources and stories within each community, inspiring other communities to join the network and participate in conversations that can strengthen their adaptive capacities and amplify their voices in policy dialogues related to climate actions in rural Cambodia.

The project was funded by the United States under the PACT-US Partnership program "Mekong Connections: Governance, Transparency, and Local Voices". The Climate Change Networks (CCN) developed through this project aim to provide an evidence base for scaling up community-based networks within and across borders while retaining and building on the core value of locally owned, participatory processes. The project also provided learning materials and tools that CCN members used to continue sharing lessons on climate change and adaptation practices post-project.

On this website, we share reports, policy briefs, and film clips that showcase the CCN's actions and provide insights into lessons learned and findings from the research.
